Wilder Fox, is exclusively partnering with one of Australia's leading institutions for the purpose of recruiting a experienced Senior Development Manager with a passion for the Build to Rent market. In this role, you will play a key role in overseeing the development of 500 apartment projects in vibrant Sydney, focusing on the fast-growing Build to Rent sector.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end development process for large-scale Build to Rent projects, specifically overseeing 500 apartment projects in the Sydney CBD.
• Conduct feasibility studies, market research, and financial analysis to assess project viability and potential returns.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project objectives, develop project briefs and establish design and construction requirements.
• Manage the preparation and submission of planning applications, ensuring compliance with local regulations and obtaining necessary approvals.
• Oversee project budgets, financial modelling, and funding arrangements, including securing debt and equity financing.
• Lead the consultant selection process, including architects, engineers, and contractors and manage their performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure efficient and effective design development and delivery.
• Manage project timelines, monitor progress and implement strategies to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct regular project meetings, provide updates to senior management and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Oversee leasing and marketing strategies, working closely with the leasing team to achieve occupancy targets.
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, joint venture partners and other stakeholders, ensuring their satisfaction and engagement throughout the project.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Development Manager, with a focus on large-scale residential projects (Build to Rent sector is a bonus).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, specifically overseeing 500 apartment projects or similar scale.
• Strong knowledge of the Build to Rent market, including an understanding of market dynamics, tenant preferences and operational considerations.
• Excellent financial acumen, with experience in financial modelling, feasibility analysis and securing project financing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all stages of the development process, from feasibility to handover.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams, consultants and contractors.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of local planning regulations and experience in navigating the approval process.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Relevant qualifications in property development, real estate, or a related field.
